West Norfolk Pub Of The Year 2016/17 and 2018!
KING'S ARMS - Shouldham

March 2018 News

At our meeting last Tuesday, the results of our Pub of the Year competitions were announced. They are as follows

Pub of the Year Kings Arms, Shouldham

Cider Pub of the Year Blackstone Engine Bar, Denver

Club of the Year Ferry Lane Social club

They will now start on the trail for national honours and hope to emulate the Cricketers Arms in St Helens which was named as the CAMRA National Pub of the Year earlier this week. If you would like to be involved in judging the next round, please contact me.
Presentations will be organised at our next meeting, which will be on 13th March at the White Hart, Foulden, 8.00. (IP26 5AW)

We are expecting the next issue of Nips to be delivered on Friday, and Ros will be in touch with the usual distribution crew.

If you wish to try the Kings Arms, Ian tells me that ‘Panther Brewery will be running our usual Sunday quiz in March (25th). They will be raising funds for Nelsons Journey and bringing along a few tasty treats for the raffle etc. We will have at least one of their beers - “Paws” (for thought) if not another on during the evening.’

Paul Richards tells me that his walk on Saturday 3rd March is now fully subscribed.

In other news, I believe that the Crossways in Lynn has reopened, and there is now Real Ale in the Dukes Head Hotel in Lynn.

Your top beer scores for the last month are the Victory at Clenchwarton and the Kings Arms at Shouldham, both 5/5, Hockwold Red Lion 4.55 and the following with 4.5 - West Acre Stag, Larling Angel, Gaywood White Horse and Thetford Red Lion. (36 pubs/114 scores)
