NEWS RELEASE
A GREAT PUB FOR GREAT BIRCHAM
Great Bircham King’s Head is West Norfolk Branch Pub of the Year
Issued: 12th March 2007 (For immediate use)
The West Norfolk branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, are delighted to announce that The King’s Head at Great Bircham has been awarded West Norfolk Branch Pub of the Year 2007.
William Poole, owner of the King’s Head said “We are very proud to be awarded this accolade, particularly with such strong competition in our area, it is a credit to the team here. Thanks must also go to our local and regular guests who have supported us over the last two and a half years and have helped create a warm and friendly atmosphere in our bar.”
The King’s Head have pulled off a rare trick: they have built first class hotel facilities onto a village local without losing the villagers’ local. Of course, it serves great beer, and if you want to drop in for a pint you feel very welcome.
Tim Spitzer, Chairman of West Norfolk CAMRA said "The place for the pub is at the heart of the community, and the King’s Head successfully combines the colour supplement charisma with the feel of a village pub. So come along and see for yourselves how they’ve done it"
The presentation of the award will be announced in the next few weeks.
